As a Controls & Electrical (C&E) Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing electrical systems to ensure they meet provincial and regional codes. Working closely with engineering, mechanical, and facilities teams, you’ll play a key role in installing, repairing, and improving equipment while ensuring projects are completed on time and meet operational needs.

More about your responsibilities:

  • Equipment: Work on installing, repairing, and testing new equipment to meet operational needs and project scope.
  • Electrical System: Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain wiring, control equipment, and electrical systems for various plant operations.
  • Troubleshoot and Repair: Diagnose and fix plant issues, from process controllers (PLCs) to support systems like BMS/BAS.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Ensure all electrical systems and equipment undergo regular maintenance to avoid downtime and ensure optimal functionality.
  • Documentation: Read, revise, and maintain schematics, PLC programs, and technical manuals, ensuring they are up-to-date and accurate.
  • Project Support and Validation: Collaborate with project teams and authorities to assess and approve electrical designs while ensuring project validation and compliance.
  • Training and Knowledge: Provide training to colleagues on electrical systems, ensuring safe and efficient operation while sharing best practices.
  • Safety Leadership: Lead safety efforts by identifying risks and ensuring all staff work under safe conditions.
  • Industry Standards: Undertake continuous training to enhance your skills and ensure all activities comply with SOPs, cGMP, and health and safety regulations.

  What you’ll bring

  • A university/college degree in technical engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience working with PLCs, servos, electrical panels, motors, transformers, and more in a cGMP or similar regulated environment.
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot and work with a wide range of electrical systems.
  • Proven teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to provide and follow directions.
  • A proactive approach to independent and collaborative work, thriving in dynamic environments.
  • Strong communication skills with technical reading and writing abilities.
  • Consider as a bonus:
    • Electrical license. 
    • CET or equivalent designations.
