As a Continuous Improvement (CI) Coordinator, you will be responsible for leading the development and execution of continuous improvement projects that enhance operational efficiency, safety, and product quality. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, applying Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to solve problems, eliminate waste, and optimize processes. Your leadership will be key in driving cultural change toward a more efficient, Lean-focused operation while ensuring alignment with company objectives.

More about your responsibilities:

  • Lean Champion: Provide hands-on assistance to Operations in troubleshooting production concerns, ensuring smooth daily operations while sharing your expertise in process capabilities, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Use robust problem-solving techniques and analytical tools to lead cross-functional teams in root cause analysis, driving improvements in operational efficiency.
  • Production Analysis and Reporting: Support the creation and analysis of production reports, with a focus on enhancing safety, minimizing downtime, maximizing uptime, reducing scrap, improving throughput, and addressing labour needs.
  • Operations Improvement: Assist Operations by addressing requests aimed at improving safety, quality, process flow, and waste reduction, while participating in daily meetings to update on ongoing improvement projects.
  • Continuous Improvement: Champion the Lean manufacturing roadmap by identifying and driving improvement projects that deliver measurable savings and long-term benefits to operational KPIs.
  • Performance Tracking: Lead Lean initiatives such as 5S, SMED, and Kaizen events to reduce bottlenecks and waste, while tracking and reporting performance on continuous improvement projects to leadership.
  • Equipment and Process Optimization: Analyze current workflows and identify areas for improvement, implementing best practices while establishing procedures for equipment safety, operation, and setup.
  • Mentorship and Continuous Improvement Culture: Act as an ambassador for Lean, mentoring colleagues through training and coaching on continuous improvement tools, techniques, and standard operating procedures.
  • Project Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams through root cause analysis, Lean events, and kaizen projects, providing hands-on support and managing project timelines and priorities.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with the company’s Quality Management System and all Health & Safety and Environmental policies, promoting a safe and compliant workplace.

What you’ll bring

  • A post-secondary diploma in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience leading Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
  • Proficiency in Lean methodologies and Six Sigma principles, with a proven ability to drive operational improvements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in root cause analysis and trend identification, with hands-on experience in techniques like 5S, Kaizen, SMED, and DMAIC.
  • A collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills to engage with cross-functional teams and train others in Lean practices.
  • Project management expertise with the ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, and ensure timely delivery of results.
  • Enthusiastic about fostering a culture of continuous improvement and able to mentor teams towards success.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, to analyze and report on data-driven insights.
  • Green Belt training.
  • Consider as a bonus:
    • Experience in cGMP, automotive, agri-food, packaging or automotive industries.
    • Black Belt training.
